The KRDHD provides school nurse services in eighteen schools in collaboration with the local school boards in Knott, Letcher and Wolfe Counties.<\/p>\n
The school nurses are highly trained health professionals that provide a variety of services. These services include dental varnish, well child exams, hearing and vision screenings, chronic disease management, health education and referrals for acute or chronic illnesses.<\/p>\n
The school nurses adhere to guidelines set forth by the Kentucky Department of Public Health and the Core Clinical Service Guide to insure nursing care is provided at the highest professional standard. Please contact your local health department for more information.<\/p>\n
