Full-Time Clinic Nurse - Owsley County

The KY River District Health Department is accepting applications for a Full-Time Clinic Nurse. Position located at the Owsley County Health Departments. This is a non-merit, contract positions.

General Duties include:
 This position serves under the direction of the Nurse Supervisor. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; Provide basic entry level nursing care and assessments to clients consistent with the Public Health Practice Reference, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice. Document services provided to the client according to standards of the Core Clinical Service Guide (CCSG) and Administrative Reference (AR). Maintain confidentiality and privacy according to guidelines. Develop and conduct educational counseling and teaching activities for individual clients and families. Utilize basic awareness of community resources and complete required trainings. Services provided will include; family planning, immunizations, WIC, harm reduction, etc.

Starting Salary:
Salary negotiable $20.30 to $28.36 per hour depending upon education and experience with full state benefit package including Kentucky Employee Health Plan and participation in the Kentucky Employee Retirement System.

Full-Time HANDS Home Visitor - Knott or Letcher County

The KY River District Health Department is accepting applications for a Full-Time HANDS Home Visitor. Positions may be based in the Knott or Letcher County Health Departments. The vacancies are non-merit, contract positions.

General Duties include:
Conduct initial home visit following Parent Visitor assessment with parent/s and or families to establish rapport and planning for providing services as qualified by the provider. Provide regular planned visits to establish a trusting relationship for voluntary eligible HANDS participant/s to assist parent/s and or families with child development, parenting skills, health services and other needed resources identified at assessment or during visits. Facilitate families in securing of prenatal/child health services, referrals, and appointments with other supportive agencies. Document case records, home visit logs accurately on each contact, progress, service need and completes reports as required. Maintain confidentiality of program information obtained from home visit/s and exchanged while communicating with community and support service providers. Confer with Program Coordinator and/or Supervisor in cases involving potential collaboration with other service providers.

Minimum Education, Training or Experience:
High School Education for Paraprofessional Level. Bachelors in Social Work or related field for Professional Level

Full-Time Janitor - Perry County

General Duties include:
Cleans, sweeps, dusts, mops, washes, vacuums, polishes and waxes floors; Cleans windows, woodwork, furniture and equipment; Cleans toilet facilities and keeps restrooms supplied with towels, soap and other items; Collects and disposes of trash from buildings and grounds; Performs unskilled maintenance work; Performs outside work such as cleaning walks and mowing lawn; Moves furniture and equipment; Ability to perform physical labor such as moving furniture and equipment, lifting, climbing ladders, etc., and ability to follow instructions concerning various chemicals.

Full-Time Support Services Specialist - Perry County

Full-Time Human Resources Specialist - Hazard, KY

General Duties include:
This position serves under the direction of the Public Health Director. Receives, reviews and audits time distribution reporting sheets from employees to enter into a computerized system, generates payroll checks and verifies against master listing of personnel records and approved actions, initiates personnel actions through the automated network, makes arrangements for appropriate recruitment advertisements, prepares monthly benefit payments involved in payroll deductions and makes adjustments as needed, prepares appropriate payroll and other reports requested by Director, maintains employee records, advises and consults with employees regarding personnel questions.

Minimum Education, Training or Experience:
Bachelors Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; Conducts comprehensive initial nursing assessments, at designated times, to obtain and document pertinent physical and psychological health status and history, determines program eligibility, needed services and appropriate payer source and develops an individualized plan of care; assesses pain management and completes review of medications; assesses need for and use of health care equipment and technology; provides intermittent skilled nursing services; identifies health risks and implements risk reduction strategies for self and others according to agency policy; conducts or participates in team meetings/case conferences to evaluates client’s response to care, need to alter the plan of care, need to add or discontinue a service or need to change payer status; revises plan of care as needed; provides thorough documentation and submits appropriate reports as required.
